KEZY FEASTER

Kezy captures the dramatic beauty and changing moods of the North Yorkshire landscape through her mixed media paintings. Kezy has a fascination with how man lives and evolves within the land, she is intrigued by how buildings and architecture sit within our landscape. From the Moors to the clusters of houses which nestle into the coastline cliffs, she interprets these in her own quirky way.
Kezy also draws open fantasy worlds and the cogs and chains of the Steam Punk Movement.
Kezy lives and works near Pickering, and we love exhibiting her very popular originals and a wide range of her Limited edition prints.

MICHAEL CLAXTON

Michael lives and works in Sheffield. He paints mainly in acrylic on canvas. He is inspired by the beautiful and ever changing landscapes of the Peak District – right on his doorstep!
Michael’s aim is to capture the essence of distant view, capturing the way light interacts with nature and landscape. The simplicity of nature is a constant source of inspiration for his paintings, capturing the shifting light, tumbling clouds, crumbling rocks on rolling hills and a crashing waves.
Michael likes to work from memory, as it gives him more freedom and expression and the ability to work using bold open brush strokes alongside palette knife mark making achieving rich textured paintings and creating plenty of energy and emotion.

SEAN DURKIN

Sean was born in Middlesbrough, his work is full of irony and narrative, his work being simultaneously playful and powerful. His path to becoming an artist is quite a tale further adding to the impact of his work.
In 1972 Sean’s Father John stole and held ransom a Lowry Painting of Middlebrough Town Hall and St Hilda’s Church from the local art gallery. In exchange for the safe return of the picture he demanded the Lord Mayor raffle his underpants for charity and the gallery to be open on a Sunday for the “working man to get some culture” and finally for the gallery to be installed with a better alarm system! As a boy of 8 years Sean still remembers coming downstairs to find the stolen painting on his mantelpiece. He was fascinated by the atmosphere of the painting and the matchstick people as they scurried along. He did not realise what a profound effect this would have on him and inspire him to become an artist himself.
Sean’s atmospheric work pays tribute to the memory of the stolen painting. He enjoys creating rough and textured surfaces to create the grittiness and mood of his paintings. His paintings are full of narrative prompting the viewer to wonder about the lives of the matchstick people. Look out for the characters of the Policeman and Burglar they are always there to remind Sean of his Father’s sensational stunt!

PETER BROOK

Peter Brook, the Pennine landscape painter, was born in the winter of 1927. He taught art at Sowerby Grammar school before becoming a full time artist in his 40's. Peter has painted many areas of the British Isles including Scotland, Cornwall and the Potteries but his first love is the Yorkshire Pennines; often in winter. His paintings depict a vanishing world; a world of farmhouses on the moors, of mills, of people who inhabit the area etc and include an element of humour, which is so much part of Peter's character. There are a number of books on Peter's work including 'Peter Brook--The Pennine Landscape Painter'. Sadly, Peter died in 2009.
